Bucket Wheel Excavator". An excavator control system (PLC) plays a key role in performing the automatic block digging procedure, which is a common way of operating a bucket wheel excavator. This paper describes the basics of block digging and the implementation of individual functions and operations that control system executes in order to carry out the wanted digging procedure.
